Summer is always our favorite time of year. When the days are long and the garden is flourishing. There is something so beyond satisfying about watching a garden come to life. For me, I love knowing the hard work we put into it is providing us with food for months to come. I also love the family time that comes from planting seeds and ultimately harvesting the vegetables. I talked about what we were planting in this post here and it’s been so fun to see what has been working this year and what hasn’t. I am over the moon about how well our watermelons are doing! I am also really excited for a corn harvest. (Minus the watermelon I harvested too soon and almost cried over!) There is nothing better than homegrown corn! Well, we’ve never grown corn ourselves, but we’ve had it from other people who have grown it locally and it’s amazing!
It is a dream of ours to have a big farm and supply fresh, local produce to our friends and family. This year we have already learned so much more about gardening and I know we will keep getting better with each year that passes!
